Cookie Policy

Last Updated: March 14, 2026

This Cookie Policy supplements our Privacy Policy, which describes how we handle personal data more broadly. It explains what cookies are, how Erin Herald Learning Studio Ltd (“Erin Herald”, “we”, “us”) uses them on ErinHerald.cyou, and how you can manage your preferences.

1) What are cookies?

Cookies are small text files stored on your device (computer, phone, or tablet) when you visit a website. They help a website remember your settings, maintain basic session continuity, and (when you choose to allow it) measure how the site is used.

In addition to cookies, some measurement technologies work like cookies even if they are not stored as a traditional file. Examples include pixel tags embedded in a webpage, and server-side event requests used to measure a form submission or a page visit. In this policy, we refer to cookies and similar technologies together as “cookies”.

2) Types of cookies by duration and origin

Cookies can be:

  • Session cookies: deleted when you close your browser. They support basic site functionality during your visit.
  • Persistent cookies: remain for a set period or until you delete them. They help remember your preferences over time.

Cookies can also be:

  • First-party: set by ErinHerald.cyou (our domain).
  • Third-party: set by providers who support site measurement or advertising features when enabled (for example, Google or Meta).

3) How we use cookies (categories)

Erin Herald uses three categories of cookies. Essential cookies are required for the site to function. Analytics and marketing cookies are optional and are used only if you provide consent through our cookie tools.

Essential cookies (always active)

These support core site operations such as saving your cookie choice, maintaining session continuity, and protecting forms. Without these cookies, the site may not function as expected.

Analytics cookies (optional)

These help us understand which guides and learning pages are most useful (for example, which routines are read most often and where visitors tend to leave). We use this information to improve clarity, structure, and navigation. Analytics cookies do not tell us who you are by name.

Marketing cookies (optional)

These are used to measure advertising performance and to help show messages that are relevant to home-care learning (for example, reminders about workshops or seasonal checklists). They may also help limit repeated ads and support conversion attribution if you send us a workshop request.

4) Cookie table

The table below lists the cookies commonly associated with the categories above. Some cookies may be set only when the relevant features are enabled.

Name Purpose Category Type Retention
_site_session Site session continuity Essential First-party Session
cookie_consent Stores your consent choice Essential First-party 12 months
_ga GA4 user identifier Analytics Third-party 2 years
_ga_XXXXXXXXXX GA4 session state (10-char GA4 ID) Analytics Third-party 2 years
_gcl_au Google Ads conversion linker Marketing Third-party 90 days
_fbp Meta Pixel browser identifier Marketing Third-party 90 days
_fbc Meta Pixel click identifier Marketing Third-party 90 days

Note: The “_ga_XXXXXXXXXX” cookie name varies by property. The format shown above is the standard GA4 pattern used by Google Analytics 4.

5) Third-party providers

When you consent to optional cookies, we may use services provided by:

  • Google LLC (Analytics and advertising measurement, where enabled).
  • Meta Platforms, Inc. (advertising measurement, where enabled).
  • Cloudflare (site delivery and security).

We do not permit these providers to use Erin Herald site data for their own independent commercial purposes. Providers may process data on our behalf under their own policies and contractual terms, particularly where they act as processors or service providers.

6) Managing your cookie preferences

You can manage optional cookies in three main ways:

  • Use the “Manage cookie preferences” link in the footer to open the cookie tools and change your consent choices.
  • Adjust settings in your browser (for example, to block third-party cookies or delete existing cookies). Each browser is different, so check your browser’s help pages.
  • Use provider controls where available. For example: Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on (tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout), Google ad settings (adssettings.google.com), Meta ad preferences (facebook.com/adpreferences), and European choice tools (youronlinechoices.eu).

If you disable or delete cookies, some parts of the site may not work as intended. Essential cookies will remain active because they are required for core functionality.
